Obituary for Mildred Fernsler

Mildred Fernsler passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the age of 97. She was born in the Byberry section of Philadelphia, the daughter of Edward and Florence McMullen. Mildred was a graduate of Abington High School Class of 1938 and was an active member of the Alumni Association for many years. She met the love of her life, the late Frederick D. Fernsler, Jr., while working at Standard Pressed Steel (SPS Technologies) in Jenkintown as a supervisor in the billing department. They were married in 1954 and had a wonderful life together for 32 years. She enjoyed bowling in several different leagues, playing bridge and traveling. She had many life-long friends and was affiliated with many organizations and clubs in the Glenside and Ambler areas, including 27 years as a member of the Eastern Star. Mildred is survived by a son, Craig Fernsler, (Doreen) along with six grandchildren: Jim McAnally, Jr., (Mary), Debbi Aldinger (Steve), Patty Onley (Mike), Paul Flye (Dawn), Justin Fernsler and Brendan Fernsler; and seven great-grandchildren: Matt McAnally, Jamie McAnally, Jessica Aldinger, Dan Aldinger, Kelli Onley, Jason Onley and Paul Flye, Jr. She was predeceased by step children Patricia McAnally and Frederick D. Fernsler, III. She was 80 year member of Jarrettown United Methodist Church where she was very active and served as the Sunday School Superintendent in the 1940s and 50s.
